Dear Friends,

This week, two men prayed with me according to the pattern of Luke 18:13 & Romans 10:9. Both are software engineers. Both are young men in their late 20s. Both have started software AI companies. Both are graduates from the University of California; one from UC Irvine and the other from UC Berkeley. Both are Americans, but one lives in the US and the other lives overseas, where he can recruit talent at a lower cost than hiring engineers in the US. (AI software engineers, if they are talented, command enormous salaries these days.)

“I want to believe but I need to understand the evidence better —–

Hello Dr. I want to understand the evidence for the resurrection better because I think my faith hinges on this. I was born and raised Catholic but when I was a younger adult, I became disillusioned with Catholic tradition and faith in general. In recent months/years, I find myself searching for answers, and eventually drawn back to Jesus Christ and his life and teachings. I spent a decent amount of time watching John Lennox and find his arguments well formed and novel. I’ve also watched a part of the youtube video with you and him regarding how scripture opens your mind. Thank you for taking the time to read my message and I look forward to hearing from you.”

We met on Zoom. He listened intently. The evidence was sufficient. The Lord opened his heart to believe. He prayed aloud in accordance with the texts referenced above. He committed to daily reading in the scripture program that I assigned him, and to the 13-week mentoring Bible study, to be arranged by Chuck Lloyd.

“Subject: Questions about Faith & Christianity

Hello Dr. Tour, Nice to meet you, I’m _____________. I watched your segment on Tucker Carlson and have been exploring Christianity. I met __________ [Tucker Carlson’s scheduler] at a friend’s wedding and he recommended I reach out to you so we could talk. I’ve read parts of the Gospel and have questions. A bit of context: I grew up without a religious background and have found my way towards God (though I am not a Christian). A wonderful woman prompted me to read the Gospel of Matthew. As someone who has been secular nearly my entire life, it is extremely difficult for me to understand or fathom miracles and resurrection. I’d highly appreciate your time to meet and discuss, though I don’t want to show up unprepared. Please let me know if there are parts of the Bible I should read beforehand (even if in its entirety). Thanks,__________

Per his request, I assigned him to read “The Case for Christ,” and then we met. He, too, listened carefully and then readily prayed aloud with me. The gospel message again hit its intended mark in the bullseye of his being. The ability of the gospel to accurately strike all, from the wayward Catholic to the secularist, testifies to its origin from the Creator of the human heart.  He is now in daily Bible reading and weekly study, as scheduled by Chuck Lloyd.

Luke 23:42–43
And he was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!” And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”
Luke 19:9–10
“Today salvation has come to this house… For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

God bless,

Dr. James Tour
