Dear Friends,
This week, three men prayed with me according to the pattern of Luke 18:13 & Romans 10:9.
A few days ago, we posted a short 1-minute video on many different platforms where John Lennox was mentioning me to Alex O’Connor. It highlights my invitation to people to hear about the resurrection.

The video went viral, garnering several million views across various platforms. It also resulted in hundreds of emails per day over the first few days. Brandon has sifted through these to ensure that meetings are held only with unbelievers. But since then, I have had to add more slots to accommodate the many hours of sharing requested. This week, I virtually visited people in Tennessee, Alaska, England, Argentina, and South Africa. Here are a few of the things that they wrote:
Subject: Resurrection Hello, I found this watching John Lennox mention you. I’m having a hard time believing the resurrection, mainly bc it sounds too fanciful. I’d like to believe it in, but I can’t.
This man readily accepted the evidence of the resurrection and prayed as outlined above. He openly agreed to the task of daily Bible reading and Bible study with a 1-on-1 mentor, with whom he is now set.

Hello Dr. Tour, My name is _____________, and I live in a small town in Alaska. I’ve been searching for my faith for quite a while now. One of the biggest struggles in my life has been a deep fear of death. I have severe health anxiety, and I think a lot of it comes from being afraid of dying and afraid of the unknown. I’ve always been a skeptic by nature. I question almost everything, including doctors. Because of that, the idea that a man was crucified, died, and then rose again three days later is something my mind has a hard time accepting. As someone who considers himself agnostic, I’ve been trying to look at both sides honestly… I want to believe in Jesus Christ. I want to believe there is something more than this life. I want to have hope. For much of my life, I’ve felt trapped in misery. I’ve battled suicidal thoughts on and off for the past six years, and I’ve struggled with a tremendous amount of self-hatred. I’ve told my family that I don’t feel like I’m really living anymore I’m just surviving. I don’t look forward to good days; I look forward to the days that hurt a little less. I’m reaching out because I’m searching for answers, and I’m searching for peace. I don’t know exactly what that looks like yet, but I know I don’t want to keep living with this fear and emptiness. Sincerely, _______
This sort of emptiness is characteristic of many in Alaska. The man works as a crematory technician, so he sees death up close all day every day, exacerbating his struggles. But the gospel message hit its mark, and he readily accepted the evidence of the resurrection and prayed as outlined above. He too openly agreed to the task of daily Bible reading and Bible study with a 1-on-1 mentor, with whom he is now set.

Dear Dr James Tour, I hope you are doing well. I am writing to you because I have been reflecting on my faith recently. While I call myself a believer, the skeptic in me often makes me question the reliability of the gospels and whether or not they have been changed, and where all other spirtual/ religions fall into this. Particularly those of the near death experience community. I was wondering if you would be willing to share your own perspective with me. Specifically, could you tell me what it was that made you believe? I look forward to hearing from you. To clarify my position, I don’t believe that I believe in the physical resurrection of Jesus. Best regards,
Again, the gospel message struck its intended target, and he accepted the evidence of the resurrection and prayed. He also openly agreed to the task of daily Bible reading and Bible study with a 1-on-1 mentor, with Chuck Lloyd.

I also met with a woman, who wrote:
Hi Dr. Tour, I would really like to talk with you about this subject. Let me know how this works. Many thanks. [Concerning the resurrection of Jesus:] Well, i find it very hard to believe. I need faith, specially for my children. I suppose that if I need proof I just don’t have faith, but may be, it helps.
May my kids be present in the meeting? They are [teenagers].
I always like to have a woman like Miss Louise or Barbara Lloyd with me on the Zoom call when I am sharing with women. But since all her teenage children were to attend, I felt it would be fine without another woman present. When she appeared in the Zoom, her children were not there; she said they went to their father’s home. So I shared the gospel anyway. She is a psychologist from a Catholic background, and she feels that she knows much more than she really does. She did come around to prayer and agreed to the daily reading and Bible study with a mentor, but later that evening, I got an email from her backtracking, saying she would continue her own journey. I read her email before I went to sleep and it made my heart sink. I woke up in the middle of the night, unable to sleep due to the sadness.
Acts 28: 23 When they had set a day for Paul, they came to him at his lodging in large numbers; and he was explaining to them by solemnly testifying about the kingdom of God and trying to persuade them concerning Jesus, from both the Law of Moses and from the Prophets, from morning until evening. 24 Some were being persuaded by the things spoken, but others would not believe. 25 And when they did not agree with one another, they began leaving after Paul had spoken one parting word, “The Holy Spirit rightly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers, 26 saying,‘Go to this people and say,
“You will keep on hearing, but will not understand;
And you will keep on seeing, but will not perceive;
27 For the heart of this people has become dull,
And with their ears they scarcely hear,
And they have closed their eyes;
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
And hear with their ears,
And understand with their heart and return,
And I would heal them.”’
28 Therefore let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will also listen.”
Many, indeed, will also listen.
God bless,
Jim Tour
