Dear Friends:

This week one woman prayed with me according to the pattern of Luke 18:13 & Romans 10:9.

The woman is around 40 years old, a lawyer, former military, and used to practice International Law. She had an accident and received a traumatic brain injury, and as a result she has not been able to work for more than one year; it is hard for her to look at a video screen more than one hour per day. She saved all her strength to just have our 1-hour Zoom conversation. She wrote: 

“Subject: Inquiry about the Resurrection “

Good morning,

I hope this email finds you well. I was watching a video with Dr. Tour and he kindly offered his email address for those who may have questions about the resurrection of Jesus. I am seeking and have come to believe that there is a creator of our universe (and a finer tuner of it) and a creator of life on Earth. I have been exploring the historicity of Jesus, as I was ignorant of so much around the verifiable history of Jesus. My last internal sticking point is the resurrection. If you would kindly be able to point me towards resources on that front I would be most grateful.

Miss Louise and I met with her. She watches the videos and reads the books of John Lennox, J. Warner Wallace, Hugh Ross, Gary Habermas, John Burke, Steven Meyer, and Lee Strobel. She was citing these men’s books. When I heard that, I knew the ground was already well-prepared. 

Indeed, she received the gospel and the resurrection message, and prayed aloud with me at the end. And committed to the daily scripture reading program for 15 minutes each morning and the 13-week Bible study with Miss Louise. 

Afterward, she wrote:

“Dear Dr. Tour, 

Thank you so much for making the time to connect with me today (and Perkins) [her service dog] and to introduce me to Miss Louise. Your faith, sharing why you believe in the Resurrection of Jesus, your structured approach to the Gospels and your encouragement is very welcome. I look forward to working through these materials with Miss Louise and to deepening my faith. Seeing these salvations each week is my greatest joy in life. It never grows old. In 2025, there were 87 such salvations through these one-on-one discussions, and 2/3rds of them via Zoom. 

Isaiah 53:11
 As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; by His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, as He will bear their iniquities.

Psalm 126:5-6 
Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting. He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed, shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him. 

Luke 15:7
I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
