Dear Friends,

This week one man prayed with me according to the pattern of Luke 18:13 & Romans 10:9.

I was contacted by a man on behalf of his adult nephew:

Thank you for the excellent content you put forth and for the invitation to directly engage with you regarding the Evidence of the Physical Resurrection of Christ. In this case, I am a liaison for my adult nephew. He wanted me to set up your meeting with him, presumably a ZOOM type call, due to his lack of computer skills. ________________is very interested in hearing from you on this critical matter. He is an American English teacher in ___________ in his mid-fifties. At this point, I would characterize his beliefs as largely internally formalized, based on his sense of right and wrong. I have been witnessing to him for many years, and he believes that God made everything through evolution. He seems to pick and choose which parts of the Bible he can believe and trust, while considering other parts as anecdotal, nice stories to teach valuable lessons, including the stories of creation, Adam & Eve, and Noah’s Ark. _________ is married with [several children].

I told him that his nephew would have to email me himself to make the request. He did. So I asked whether he believed in the resurrection. His reply was:

Dear Jim, I am not convinced, though I know I should be. I believe in God, and all Jesus’s messages are beautiful, and substantive without Him being God.

So we met. One hour later he was praying aloud Luke 18:13 & Romans 10:9, confessing to the resurrection of Jesus. As far as Jesus being God, once he read John 1:1 and John 1:14, I needed to say nothing more. He is in Bible study now and daily reading. He left the call a happy man.

Many ask me what is it that I say to people to get them to believe. Here it is in a 1-minute video on what does not work and what works:

If you deeply care about people getting saved, you will see people getting saved. “Lord, let me see salvations! Lord save souls! Lord save souls!”

John 1:1, 14
1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
14 “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

God bless,

Jim Tour
