Dear Friends,
This week, two men and one woman prayed with me according to the pattern of Luke 18:13 & Romans 10:9.
The first is a man who is a ski instructor at a very large skiing facility in Vermont along with his wife—two for the effort of one. They look like ages ~30 and ~20, respectively. He wrote to me:
Subject: Resurrection of Jesus
Greetings, watching your video now on Silicon Oxide memory and saw your dropin for Jesus. I’m rediscovering my faith and am still uncertain of my belief in the resurrection and Jesus as one and only lord.
We met as he sat, with hat, bundled up on the floor in what looked like a small cabin with just a wood stove, and his wife was in the background working around the cabin, but I gathered she was listening. She comes from a Mormon background, he told me. The man listened carefully, and when it was time to pray, I asked his wife to join us in the prayer. She jumped off the loft bed and gladly joined us. They both prayed with me and seemed quite open. They each had one question, which was simple to answer, so simple that I do not even recall the questions. The ski instructor is now set up with Chuck Lloyd for discipleship, and the wife is set up with Barbara Lloyd. Couple disciplining couple, the old teaching the young, which is always nice, and the scriptural way.
Acts 16:31 They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
The next was an insurance man who wrote to me the following:
Dr. Tour – My wife and I listened to your Dec 26 podcast today on our drive from Milwaukee to Minneapolis for the second leg of our winter holiday rendezvous with our respective families. I immediately looked over at my wife as you offered listeners the opportunity to visit with you to better understand the resurrection. She looked over at me and said, “well, here you go. The only thing that would have made this any more obvious for you is if he had called you out by name.” …You said anyone who listened to you would leave a believer, and I hope that could be the case with me as I continue on my faith journey. Happy Holiday and I look forward to hearing from you.
We arranged to meet after his holiday. He listened and readily received—he was not far from the kingdom of God.
Mark 12: 34 When Jesus saw that he had answered intelligently, He said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.”
He is now reading the scriptures daily and being set up in Bible study. This will improve the man’s life and affect his relationship with his wife and two children.
James 5:20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
God bless,
Jim Tour
