Dear Friends,

This week one student prayed with me according to the pattern of Luke 18:13 & Romans 10:9.

This student worked in my lab for the summer, and on his last day, I took him to lunch in the faculty club. He is an amazing young man. Highly talented, articulate, and respectful. When we were at lunch, he had asked me to tell him 5 secrets for success that have helped my life. I told him that I would rather tell him just 1 since 5 are too hard to implement. I gave him the world’s best advice: salvation in Jesus Christ. We briefly discussed faith and Jesus Christ, and I asked whether I could arrange an evening to share why I embrace Jesus and his resurrection from the dead. So we met one evening a few days later. I shared the gospel, and he readily received it. As he now heads off to one of the top 3 universities in the country, he is taking with him the greatest treasures for success: the pattern of daily scripture reading after professing the resurrection of Jesus.

“But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.” Philippians 3:7–8
