Dear Friends,
This week, 6 men prayed with me according to the pattern of Luke 18:13 & Romans 10:9.
I met one-on-one with the first man because I like to have at least one of these more personal contacts each week. He is from French-speaking Canada.
He wrote:
“Hi sir, my name is ____________ from Canada, i just saw some of TikTok cap cuts of you talking about the resurrection of Jesus Christ and i am currently testing my faith and beliefs about life and the best fitting story to explain existence.
I would love to hear what you have to say about Jesus physical resurrection.
To the pleasure to talk to you soon.”
We had a delightful time together, and he was very open. After prayer, he wholeheartedly agreed to carry out the assigned daily scripture reading and discipleship sessions with the assigned mentor. Chuck Lloyd will assign the mentor.
The remainder below were from the two webinars (Saturday at noon and again at 8 pm), and all replied in the webinar chat that they had prayed with me. I always ask them to pray aloud as directed in Romans 10:9. I gave the assignments, and Brandon will assign the mentor. I spent a long time answering questions on the Q&A section of after the webinar. They type in their questions, and I reply verbally.
The second was a middle-aged man from Mumbai, India, who wrote:
“Hi Sir, I would like to understand further why Christ is God? How is the resurrection real? I am not absolutely certain if Jesus did resurrect from the tomb. Like I would love to believe this story but then the concept of him being the only god is somewhat unsettling. I don’t deny his existence and I would like to learn more about him. Would appreciate a response from your end.”
The third, a young man from the UK, wrote:
“Dear Dr. Tour, I hope you are well. I come from an atheist family and was never baptised. However, for the past few years I have felt increasingly drawn to Jesus. This year I began looking into the historical evidence for Jesus and the early Church, and this drew me even closer. I have since been to church a few times. There are still things I am doubtful about, however, and I particularly struggle with some aspects of Genesis and other parts of the Old Testament.
I am also unsure about Paul. I like his character, but I struggle with the fact that he allowed Gentile Christians to set aside some of the Jewish laws, such as the dietary laws. Yet Jesus says in Matthew 5:19 (KJV): “Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”nI would really value hearing about your own journey of faith and how you came to believe in Jesus. Thank you for your time.”
Next was a young man from Russia, who wrote:
“I have read the gospel and started believing about 12 years ago. I believed to the point where I have thought of becoming a priest. started with catholic beliefs to now leaning towards coptic orthodoxy settling in mount Athos. I am 27 soon. I am unemployed, and I have prayed a lot and I don’t know what it means to believe. I don’t feel anything. I pray and the problem is I don’t know if He is real or even if He exists, He is as good and forgiving and ever present as the bile says. I don’t feel him and I have watched videos where the priests say feelings emerge from the same place where our sinful thoughts emerge too so there’s that. I have lots of issues, and prayers aren’t helping. I don’t have a testimony neither do I have the calming or enlightening feeling others experience when they test or pray or give ultimatums to God. no amount of prayer seems to help. so its hard for me to believe in Him.”
The next was a middle-aged man from West Sussex, UK. He wrote:
“Dear Dr Tour, I find it extremely hard to believe someone came back to life. I really wish to believe but find it hard to do so. Was it just a medieval story which we wish to believe. Where is God now? Why all the suffering in the world?”
He too prayed. The gospel has a way of cutting through doubts.
The final man wrote to me:
“What evidence has brought you to believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ? Historically, I can understand, but scientifically, I struggle to find much evidence that make reason of it.”
Acts 2
40 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!”
41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.
