Dear Friends,

This week, 4 men prayed with me according to the pattern of Luke 18:13 & Romans 10:9.

I was joined this week by people from South Africa, Rwanda, the US, the UK, and the Czech Republic.

The first is an accountant in his 40s in the UK. Married with two children. He wrote:

“Subject: The physical resurrection of Jesus

Dear Doctor Tour, I’ve recently started attending Catholic church on the basis that I think it is the best and one of the only remaining communities we have in the modern west that reinforces a strong moral value system. I have been reading the bible and have found it interesting as a moral guide, a shared narrative and as a historical account. However (and this is why I’m sending this email), I still struggle with all the miracles, from the feeding to the resurrection. I think that it’s more likely that they were embellishments to the story of a revolutionary human being. I want to believe, but my skeptical mind won’t let me. I’ve heard that you will personally take the time to convince anyone having these kinds of doubts. Would you be willing to try to convince me? Warm regards,_______”

We met one-on-one. I only shared about the resurrection since that is the one that is needed to be saved. If he is reading the Bible already, he was sure to be open. Indeed, he readily received the word of truth. I committed him to Chuck Lloyd.

The next two were on the Saturday noon webinar, which had been attended by three unbelievers—one did not receive.

The first webinar man who prayed with me was from the US. He wrote:

“Dr. Tour, I’m not sure if you’ll even see this or if this is even the correct email to send this to, but I would love the opportunity to hear your talk about Jesus. I don’t struggle with believing in an intelligent creator of the universe due to the complexity around us. I do continue to struggle on and off with believing it’s Jesus and the God of the Old Testament specifically. I’m in a low place because of this doubt right now and I just want to hear how you hang on to your faith. My main hang up right now is can we believe the authors of the Bible? They talk about miracles, magic, demonic possession, angels etc as everyday occurrences yet in our modern society, we’ve dismissed these things as mental illness, human deception, etc. I want to believe in those things because Jesus addresses them as being matters of fact. But I have never experienced any of them and it feels as though these things have been “disproven” with modern science. I don’t believe that last part but that’s certainly how it feels…I appreciate your work Dr. Tour and I look forward to the presentation.”

Brandon set him up with Dr. Jonathan McLatchie.

The second webinar man was from the Czech Republic, and he wrote:

“Dear Dr James Tour, I heard that you embrace resurrection of Jesus. I heard it’s fascinating so I would genuinely love to know more. I do believe in God. Thank you. All the best, ________”

When later asked if he believed in the resurrection of Jesus, he said he was unsure if Jesus was physically raised from the dead, but noted that he was “curious and open minded” and thankful for the opportunity to meet and discuss the topic.

He readily received, and Brandon is setting him up with a mentor.

All webinar converts get the same instruction in daily reading of the scriptures and set up with a mentor.

The fourth man wrote to me:

“I do not believe in the risen Jesus. I found this challenge from you through a short where someone clipped an interview Dr. Lennox did with Alex O’Connor. My understanding of the Bible and the way people supposedly ‘live’ its teachings has shown me that Christianity as a whole is false.”

I was supposed to do the 8 PM Webinar with him, but since he was the only attendee, I switched it to a one-on-one Zoom meeting. I am glad I did. We could really get to know each other. He is a delightful man who works at the Univ. of Illinois. I thought he’d be more resistant. But no resistance at all. And he committed to the assigned Bible reading and mentorship with Burt Brink.

Luke 10:20 “…rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.”

God bless,

Dr. James Tour
